We love TENCEL™ Lyocell! It’s an awesome fabric. Many of you have asked how you should take proper care of your bed linen to keep it looking like new. So, here’s our own top tips.
Always wash brand new bed linen before using at the recommended wash cycle. This helps to wash away any dyes and manufacturing residues and softens its fibres, too.
TENCEL™ Lyocell is already a silky soft fabric, so fabric softeners aren’t required. Fabric softeners are designed to leave a coating of chemicals on the fabric. This fine residue can actually reduce the fabric’s natural breathability and moisture wicking properties. The textile sector recommends avoiding the use of fabric softener on TENCEL™ Lyocell and many other fabrics (such as terry cloth, bed sheets, cotton bedding).
Turn your bedding inside out before you place it into the washing machine or tumble dryer. Select a gentle or delicate wash cycle. If you’re unsure, just check the washing instructions label. Hang bedding inside out when line or rack drying. Sunny days may do you a whole lot of good, but it’s best to keep your bedlinen away from direct sunlight.
